What kind of damage is your mouth doing?

After watching this TD Jakes clip, I got to thinking.

He talked about how we as a people ‘hate’ on the person who gets up.  Who does things in this life, who gets better, who is making moves.

He said…’your oppressed when you’re down and then when you get up, you’re hated.

There’s no place out.’

Made me think that in either place…up or down…you still feel stuck in the same place. You think you’ve gotten a come up but in reality you haven’t because the HATE in people, makes them strive to make you feel out of place in your new space.  Crabs in a barrel syndrome.  You’re climbing out but they pulling on you to get you back in the barrel with them.

This also brought to my mind suicide.  Suicide is increasing.  People are killing themselves, why?  Is there a ‘crabs in a barrel syndrome’ happening in such a magnitude that it’s causing people to kill themselves?  Are we not seeing the magnitude of our HATE?  The enemies greatest took is deception.  He is very good and making us believe that our wrong is right.  Could we be so blinded by our own misery that we do not see how we are aiming this hate at others to the point of destruction?

When they should be shining…behind the scenes the hate is so great that, there’s no place out?  I mean honestly…I can see that happening.  I have been sharing on my Facebook page a lot lately the power of the tongue.  Social media has made it so easy for people to say whatever they want…to whomever they want.  So people feel free to destroy others with their mouths. And many times without even knowing the person!  Having no personal knowledge of them…they will use their mouth to degrade EVERYTHING about them.  Although these same people may appear strong and confident…some may not be.  And the pressure may be too great for them.

Ephesians 4:29 says ~Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.

This tells me, I have no right to use my tongue to destroy people…because I am told to encourage them.  To do otherwise is direct disobedience to God, which is a sin.

But then I must feel sorry for many and pray that God will give them a clean heart because Matthew 12:34 says ~You are a bunch of evil snakes, so how can you say anything good? Your words show what is in your hearts.

Another version of this in the Message bible says ~“You have minds like a snake pit! How do you suppose what you say is worth anything when you are so foul-minded? It’s your heart, not the dictionary that gives meaning to your words. A good person produces good deeds and words season after season. An evil person is a blight on the orchard. Let me tell you something: Every one of these careless words is going to come back to haunt you. There will be a time of Reckoning. Words are powerful; take them seriously. Words can be your salvation. Words can also be your damnation.”

The mouth speaks what the heart is full of…

What you say and type shows me where your heart is and dictates what you will produce…Good or Evil.

People of God, we must pray for the people.  We must pray that the blinds of deception be removed!  That the enemy is exposed and his vile attempts at keeping us bound in sin be revealed.  The chains must be broken and people set free!  So they can get to a place to receive the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ so they can be transformed…renewed!

 Please pray in 2014
