If I’ve never walked in their shoes..my opinion holds no weight.
Matthew 12:36-37 But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. On that day they will be told that they are either innocent or guilty because of the things they have said. (and in this case…typed)
Imagine that…tongue sins. Vain, idle, impertinent talk is displeasing to God. Vain = excessively proud of one’s own appearance, qualities, achievements idle = not active, avoiding work, not being used impertinent = inappropriate, intrusive, rude There is no good purpose in this kind of talk. It is unprofitable talk.
Is what you are saying to or about them encouraging? If not, why are you saying it? If no one has ever said this to you, according to scripture…NO, it is not ok to be destructive with your mouth. Tear down people with your mouth. Form a critical opinion and try to devalue someone with your mouth.
In this scripture Jesus is reminding us that what we say/type reveals what is in our heart.
This is not to make you feel bad and judge you…but as a friendly reminder to be aware of how you talk to and about people. If this made you feel a lil uncomfortable…that is a love reminder from God pointing out something He wants you to work on. Be open to God-led positive change.
