If you are a Christian, then why aren’t you acting like one?

Was having a conversation last night…and the question came up. If you are a Christian, then why aren’t you acting like one? And I believe this is were many get confused and frustrated and the word hypocrite comes out. Let me also ask this…are you a Christian because you read your bible and because you believe in God? If God was to hang out with you…let’s say for a weekend LOL would he sa…y you behave and carry yourself like a Christian? Let me also clarifiy that Christian means to be Christ-like….like Christ. Will someone be able to look at you and see that Christ lives in you and is an everyday part of your life?

No one can see Christ in my life if the people I hang around are not people of God. No one can see Christ in my life if the places I go don’t represent God. No one can see Christ in my life if how I talk and carry myself aren’t behaviors of someone who honors God. No one can see Christ in my life if I lie. No one can see Christ in my life if the way I dress is not modest. No one can see Christ in my life if my language is foul. No one can see Christ in my life if I’m drunk. No one can see Christ in my life if I steal. No one can see Christ in my life if I’m jealous. No one can see Christ in my life if I’m hateful. No one can see Christ in my life if I’m selfish. No one can see Christ in my life if I am angry.

Don’t fool yourself by thinking, believing and telling others that God is okay with you serving two masters.

It’s really just a matter of making the decision to follow Jesus and sticking to it…and from there God will be there for you. Proverbs 3:6 says ~In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Choose to look to God for all direction and He will help you make good decisions, show favor, get you through it.
Matthew 6:33 say ~ Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

A Christian doesn’t live life the way they want, making their own decisions…they live a life God will be pleased with. He has destined our lives already…we just have to step forward, being obedient to Him and walk in it.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says ~ This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! This is exciting! Accepting Christ into my life means all that stuff that was in me is GONE! I am a new creature in Christ and he can show me how to live a better life.

These are just some questions to ask yourself…and again be honest with yourself. And you in a place where you can truly say, I am a Christian and I am living a life God will be pleased with.

Be Blessed
