I’m not angry…all the time

Read this scripture today and it got me to thinking.
Proverbs 14:29 (KJV)
He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

Then I read the Good News version
If you stay calm, you are wise, but if you have a hot temper, you only show how stupid you are. LOL that’s a way to break it down.

Why is our first reaction to situations anger? If it inconveniences us…we ready to cuss someone out. If there is a disagreement…we screaming at someone and making a scene. If someone makes a mistake…we HAVE to be the one to point it out to them in a disrespectful way.

So when someone tells you to CALM DOWN…it really is the right thing to do. God tells us in his word…be slow to anger. And God surely does not want you cussing someone out, making a scene or being disrespectful. A Christian is someone who is trying to be LIKE Christ, and christ would not exhibit any of that behavior. If you have a tendency to do this…ask God to help you control this behavior and ask him to deliver you from this angry spirit. He can do that…and you will be amazed at the peace that will replace it.

We all know the scripture…Do unto to others and you would have them do unto you. Put yourself in the situation that you are creating with that angry spirit. Would you want someone yelling at you, cussing at you or being disrespectful to you? I don’t care how tough you are or how much you tell yourself that you don’t care what people say about or to you. No one likes to be yelled at or embarassed.

Ephesians 4:32
Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

Be Blessed
