Your not being brutally honest…your just being brutal

This morning while getting dressed God gave me a word so I’m sharing it with you. I believe it was a reminder that we are accountable to our actions..but also to our words. Stop leaving our negative opinions of people on Facebook and other social networking sites. We will be accountable for our words one day. These open forums don’t give us the right to talk bad about people.

Ephesians 4:29~
Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.

Proverbs 15:1~
A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare.

Titus 3:2~
They must not slander anyone and must avoid quarreling. Instead, they should be gentle and show true humility to everyone.

Just because we think we are talking the truth about a person or situation it is not always that we should share it with others. Proverbs 3:5 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Is God urging you to share these thoughts with people? And why do you think you know everything…especially about this person that you should give your opinion about how they act, think or live. Only God is all-knowing.

Honestly examine yourself and question…am I like that, do I intentionally speak negative about people? If God were to go back and read your posts from last year…what would He think?

Want more control of your mouth and thoughts? Pray and ask God to help you speak things that lift people up. Psalm 141:3 ~ Take control of what I say, O Lord, and guard my lips. Say this in prayer as you ask God to give you more positive and loving thoughts about people.

In Jesus name, Amen
